The first of three stages of the 2022 edition of “Discovery Pantelleria” now in its third year was held this morning. The sports event jointly organized by Veronamarathon Explore, Ecotrail Sicilia with the support of the local asd Pantelleria Outdor aims to introduce Trekking and Trail Running enthusiasts to the beauty of the island and its magnificent trails.

Important novelty this year is the partnership with the brand manufacturer of outdoor clothing and footwear ” La Sportiva” who wanted to support the program as a “Title Sponsor”!

The morning saw participants engaged in the southern part of the island on two tracks of 13.7Km and 18Km respectively. Visibly satisfied participants, who from first impressions were thrilled by the beauty of the trails and the variety of landscapes traversed!

Satisfied also the organizers for the management and success of this first day that together with the second stage on Thursday 29 will be the prelude to the final day on Saturday, October 1 valid as a stage of the Ecotrail Sicilia circuit.

As of now, the organizers would like to thank the volunteers for the forces deployed; the Pantelleria National Park Authority and the Pantelleria Municipal Administration for the patronage and support acknowledged to the project.

Registration is still open for walkers or runners who would like to join and participate!

On Friday afternoon, the briefing presentation of Saturday’s field day will be held at Punta Spadillo.

Clear skies and a splendid sunshine welcomed participants to the second day of “La Sportiva Discovery Pantelleria” held with departure and arrival from Dammusi 2Gatti in loc. Siba.

In this second stage, the athletes took up the challenge of Big Mountain and indomitably reached its summit through forests and trails as fascinating as they were challenging!

Great satisfaction of the protagonists who, with amazement in their eyes for the beauty of the places of the National Park of Pantelleria, say they are even more motivated in view of the third day valid as a test of the Ecotrailsicilia circuit scheduled for Saturday, October 1 from Punta Spadillo.

Saturday’s event will be officially presented Friday afternoon from 5:30 p.m. at Punta Spadillo in the presence of representatives of the Pantelleria National Park and the municipal administration.

At the same venue, organizers will hold the technical briefing for the competitive distances of 21 and 50 km.

Registration for the 10K walk and run is still possible until 8 a.m. Saturday morning ( half an hour before everyone’s scheduled 8:30 a.m. start ). Participation fee 15 euros with participation prize and T-shirt branded “LA SPORTIVA”

Magnificent day of Sports and great emotions at “La Sportiva Discovery Pantelleria”!

Welcomed by a beautiful sunny day, more than 100 participants including athletes, walkers, companions who came from all over Italy and representing 4 different nationalities enlivened Punta Spadillo from the early hours of the day.

Three completely off-Road routes allowed athletes to enjoy the island’s magnificent trails: 10Km Walk and Run, 21Km and 50Km competitive valid as a stage of the Ecotrailsicilia circuit.

The organizing companies VRM Team asd, Ecotrailsicilia and asd Pantelleria Outdoor have joined forces and deployed the best skills to offer everyone an event with attention to detail and eager to grow in future prospects.

The support of the Pantelleria Park Authority, the municipal administration and the title sponsor “La Sportiva” in addition to all the volunteers who lent their work gave luster to an event with great potential for development.

From a technical point of view, the three distances, challenging in terms of elevation gain and characteristics, were designed with the aim of discovering the most peculiar and scenic places on the Pantelleria trails.

To prevail in the men’s 21Km Maimone Pierpaolo Emanuele of the asd Snail Runners with a time of 2.11.16 and for the women’s classification the athlete Massariol Francine carded for Polisportiva Santorso Aosta with a time of 2.47.10

In the 50-kilometer ultra trial, Tomasoni Stefano of Athletica Franciacorta won with 6 hours 00 and 04 seconds. For women to impose Ioppolo Elisa of asd Ecotrailsicilia with a time of 8.49.15

Thanks to the efforts of the Pantelleria National Park Authority, the event was also an opportunity to enhance the area through visits conducted by the Park’s official guides and tastings of typical Pantelleria food and wine products.
