“Pantelleria Trail”
is a Trail running event open to runners, walkers and Nordic walkers registered in the regional FIDAL calendar and in the ACSI and UISP calendar organized by VRM Team asd, EcotrailSicilia asd and Pantelleria Outdoor asd and valid as the 6th stage of the circuit

The program includes 2 modes of participation: Competitive and non-competitive, to give the opportunity to confront the stopwatch or simply share a healthy and convivial sporting activity in a beautiful setting along the paths of the National Park of the Island of Pantelleria:

Participation is allowed:
- to Fidal members
- to RUNCARD, RUNCARD Trail and EPS members holding a medical certificate for competitive athletics.
- Non-members may participate by submitting an ACSI membership application and medical certificate for competitive athletics to the organization.
- Athletes of non-Italian nationality must present a medical certificate of fitness for competitive athletics.
Participants in the competitive race must be of legal age on the day of the event.
Registration
They should be done online.
Those enrolled in the GELFISER TRAIL, MONTAGNA GRANDE TRAIL and PANTELLERIA TRAIL programs will be required to present a valid athletic fitness medical certificate for competitive athletics at the time of the event.
Participants at the time of registration will sign a disclaimer to the organization for the discharge of liability and must provide the necessary information in case of first aid (blood type, any allergies to drugs or food, etc…).

- Camel back or water bottle or own glass

- Bib provided by the organization, placed on the front of the jersey.
Mandatory materials for competitive GELFISER, BIG MOUNTAIN and PANTELLER TRAIL programs:
- Trail shoes; flip-flops, sandals or open-toed shoes are prohibited.
- Camel back or 500 ml water bottle
- Cell phone with race director nr stored 338 1208474
- Thermal sheeting
- Whistle
- Food reserve/mineral salt at discretion
- Bib provided by the organization, placed on the front of the jersey.
Recommended/optional materials for all:
- Cap
- Sunglasses
- Mineral salts, salt supplements, energy bars/gels
- Sunscreen
The use of Nordic walking poles is allowed and at the discretion of the participants. Details will be announced the day before during the technical briefing.
There will be a complete and individual check of the mandatory material at the checkpoint at the stage start.Spot checks will be possible at the discretion of the race management along the route. The absence of some items of the mandatory material or the absence of water reserve will result in discretionary exclusion from participation.
Race management and water reserves
The race management will ensure the provision of natural mineral water and food at the refreshment points that will be announced in the pre-race technical briefing.
Plastic cups will not be available at the refreshment stations, so to drink you will have to have a glass or other personal container suitable for use. Drinking directly from bottles or the organization’s bins will not be allowed. Athletes are required to dispose of waste in the trash bins provided by the organization
Bib
The Bib should be worn front on the chest and in such a way that everything written on it is clearly visible. In order to avoid errors in the order of arrival it is advisable to avoid losing, tampering with or deteriorating the Bib itself. In case of withdrawal, the competitor should notify the organization staff and in any case should not pass the finish line.

The routes are designed and will take place in nature and on dirt roads for at least 90% with steep inclines and some road crossings.Competitors will be expected to obey traffic laws at all times. Particular attention should be paid to sections of paved roads.
The routes are challenging, and adequate physical preparation is required in order to sustain the exertion resulting from the distances and local weather specifications.In particular, given the temperatures, and the abundant sunshine, participants should equip themselves with Camel backs or water bottles in order to maintain adequate hydration at all times.
The route to be followed by competitors will be marked with signs, webbing and flags in the Full respect for nature. The race turns to semi-self-sufficiency. The participant is obliged, in order to safeguard his or her own safety, not to stray from the course. A competitor who strays from the marked trails is no longer the responsibility of the Organization
Any shortening of the route or refusal/ failure to register when passing the checkpoints may result in cause for exclusion of the participant.
In case of abandoning the race along the route, the competitor is obliged to notify the race direction their own withdrawal after reaching the nearest checkpoint. The organization will be responsible for his return from the checkpoint itself at the finish. The time it takes to escort withdrawn athletes back to the finish line depends on the availability of vehicles at that time, and due to the nature of the terrain it could also be several tens of minutes.
The use of any unauthorized means or assistance on the race course is prohibited.It is prohibited to be accompanied on the course by a person who is not duly registered. The use of headphones for listening to i-pods or similar devices is not allowed for safety reasons.
Respect for the ecosystem. The race takes place within natural parks and protected ecosystems: it will recommends the utmost respect for the environment, flora, fauna and natural elements.It is forbidden to litter, pick plants and flowers, remove rocks, and harass wildlife. Abandonment of waste is cause for disqualification from the event.
The event will be held in all weather conditions. The race management reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the course at any time in order to eliminate potential hazards that endanger the safety of participants.
ART. 7 - Maximum time and time gates.

There are no gates or maximum times for the other routes.
The event will be held in all weather conditions. The race management reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the course at any time in order to eliminate potential hazards that endanger the safety of participants.
ART. 8 - Ranking and timing
The running time of each participant in the Advance and Ultra programs will be recorded in hours, minutes, seconds.Timing will be on the basis of start and finish time
In case of serious delays or problems hindering the smooth running of the program it remains in the judgment of the race management to force the withdrawal of one or more competitors.
Any complaints and/or appeals must be submitted to the race direction and judge within 1 hour after the publication of the rankings upon payment of a deposit of euro 50.00=
ART. 9 - Awards and Recognition.
Finishers of the competitive programs GELFISER TRAIL MONTAGNA GRANDE TRAIL and PANTELLERIA TRAIL will be awarded race medals.
In addition, the following award categories are provided:

ARTICLE 10 - CANCELLATION
In case of cancellation of the race due to force majeure, 12 days or more before the race, the Organization agrees to refund 50% of the paid registration fee.
In case of suspension or cancellation less than 12 days after the race, no refund will be due to participants.
In case of interruption or cancellation of the race due to weather, or for any other reason independent of the Organization, no refund will be due to participants.
In case the event is made up at a future date, the organization will decide whether to save the full fee of those already registered, or apply a reinstatement fee based on the expenses already incurred by the organization.
ART 11 - Discharge of liability
Competitors and accompanying persons participate in the sports program on their full responsibility. Those who sign up are aware that, due to the nature of the trails, they run the risk of incurring even very serious injuries, and that it may take a very long time for any help to arrive.
The organization will be relieved from any kind of civil and criminal liability, for accidents, falls, sickness and for damages to persons and/or property caused by them or derived from them before, during and after the test and during the trip.
Participants also declare that they have been informed in detail about the risks arising from the competition and the safety measures taken by the organization.
Acknowledgement and acceptance of these regulations indicates full acceptance of the same, represents explicit exoneration of any liability of the organization and entities involved for the implementation of the program, for liability in case of injury, damage or death suffered by the athletes before, during and after the activities.
ART. 12 - Image Rights.
All exclusive rights to use the images of the “PANTELLERIA TRAIL” are the property of the organizers. By registering, participants allow the organization to dispose of their name and image.
Any Photo/audio/video media made by rehearsal participants may not be used except for private purposes, unless specifically authorized.
By registering, participants authorize the organization to use free of charge, without territorial or time limits, still and moving images of them during the sporting event.
ART. 13 - Rights of the organization
The race management reserves the right to intervene and amend, at its sole discretion, these regulations.
The technical management also reserves the right to change the course, or mileage at its discretion for technical/organizational reasons.
ART. 14 - Privacy.
VRM Team ASD – ECOTRAIL SICILIA and PANTELLERIA OUTDOOR process personal data through electronic and manual tools in compliance with the Privacy Code and current privacy regulations.
The data collected by the data controller are processed for the following purposes: registration and organization of the trip, compulsory fulfillment in the field of taxation and accounting, obligations under applicable laws. The same may be used and communicated for the same purposes to third parties and professionals collaborating in the implementation of the program.
ART. 15- Acceptance of the Regulations
By registering for the race, the participant automatically expresses acceptance to the regulations in all their forms and articles.
